Base Utilities
Flags, locks, turrets, NPCs and everything you need to secure your base.
Base Utilities
None of these in isolation will save you, but combined intelligently they make raiding you expensive and slow.
Faction Territory Flag
- Each faction needs exactly one flag.
- Teleport to it with
/f home. - During a raid session, an enemy can left-click the flag to begin stealing it. Once that starts, you have 15 minutes to kill them before it's gone. The faction is warned in chat throughout, and
/f homeis disabled until the situation is resolved. - If the flag is successfully stolen, the entire faction bank balance transfers to the raider.
- Right-clicking the flag opens the faction perks and upgrades menu.
- Place it in your most secure room. Natural blocks cannot be stacked over it, but explosive-resistant glass works fine.
- If your flag is destroyed, your claimed land automatically unclaims after 5 days.
- If the flag is stolen and the raider manages to plant their own, they must protect it for 24 hours to secure it.
- Flags must be placed above Y level 30.
Code Locks
- Used to lock doors, chests, levers and buttons.
- There's a per-chunk cap on locked chests, so spread storage out.
- Code locks can't be placed on blocks outside your own faction territory. Once placed, anyone can interact with the lock by pressing the lock/unlock key while looking at the chest or door. Whoever enters the correct PIN gains access. The same works for doors, buttons and levers.
Lockpicks
- Open locked chests, doors and vehicles.
- Starting a lockpick broadcasts your coordinates publicly in chat; vehicles are the exception.
- Lockpicks can fail; if they do, you start again.
- Chests take 5 minutes to pick. Steel safes take 15.
Faction Outpost
- Place anywhere outside enemy territory.
- Teleport to it with
/f outpost. - One outpost per faction. Enemies can locate it using outpost scanning tools such as the "O" tablet, and can destroy it if they find it.
Portable Base Radar
Used to locate nearby players, faction outposts and faction flags. Requires a D-Battery. Right-clicking activates a scan from the block you're standing on; the screen displays markers as you turn:
- P — a player.
- O — a faction outpost.
- F — a faction flag.
Each scan reflects the position you were standing in when you triggered it, so you'll need another battery to refresh from somewhere new.
Protected Blocks, Doors & Safes
| Block | Buy Price | Sell Price | Level | Breaks With |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iron Door | $100 | $50 | 1 | Vulnerable to C4 |
| Reinforced Timber | $3 | $1 | 2 | 4 C4 |
| Steel Safe | $7,000 | $3,500 | 3 | Immune to lockpicks outside of raid periods. Holds up to $50k. |
| Concrete | $6 | $3 | 5 | 5 C4 |
| Hardened Steel | $50 | $20 | 10 | 8 C4 |
| Bulletproof Glass | $80 | $40 | 15 | 1 C4, or one Barrett .50 cal round |
| Explosive Resistant Glass | $400 | $200 | 25 | 5 C4 |
| Hardened Steel Door | $500 | $200 | 43 | Immune to lockpicks outside of your raid period; opened with correct PIN. |
| Obsidian | $5,000 | $1,500 | 50 | 5% chance to break per C4 |
Outside of an active raid session these blocks cannot be broken at all, which is what makes them better than regular building blocks. Prices sourced from the in-game shop data.
Hardened Steel Doors can't be broken directly — you have to blow the block beneath them instead. Each C4 has a 5% chance to break that block, so breaching a door room takes patience and a lot of explosives.
Natural Blocks
The game considers certain blocks "natural": stone, sand, grass and dirt, stained clay, sandstone and stone slabs. Natural blocks cannot be placed directly above a faction flag or a factory. If you're standing under a natural block, your /tp takes three times longer than usual, so attackers can't simply roof you in to slow you whilst you're trying to leave.
Sentry Turrets
- Only function on your own claimed territory, neutral land or allied territory.
- Track and shoot enemies automatically within range.
- Take two ammo types: Minigun Ammo (low damage, lots of rounds) and Portable Minigun Ammo (high damage, fewer rounds).
- Excellent for offline base defence or as the core of a temporary raid base.
- There's a cap on how many you can place in a given area.
Personal NPCs
- Can be hatched anywhere.
- Aim and fire on enemies automatically, but need their ammunition restocked.
- Excellent passive base defence whilst you're offline.
- Raise their IQ by right-clicking with diamonds in hand. Smarter NPCs spot enemies faster, hit harder and take more punishment.
- Fully customisable: right-click after spawning to change the name, armour and weapon.
- If you attack an NPC enough, it may turn hostile to you depending on its IQ.
