Getting Started
Welcome to Minecraft Breakdown — a Flan's Mod factions server that blends survival, economy and large-scale combat into a single sandbox. When you first join, you'll appear in a neutral safe zone where you can pick up a starter kit, read the rules and decide what sort of player you'd like to be. There's room for builders, traders, raiders and warlords alike.
Your first priorities
- Join or create a faction. Almost everything worthwhile is easier in a group, from holding land to running factories.
- Find a base location. Pick somewhere defensible, not too far from civilisation and ideally near resources.
- Claim your territory. Even a small claim protects you from casual griefing.
- Start earning. Factories, missions, NPC farming and the Scrap Dealer will all keep your wallet ticking over.
- Read the rules in-game. Use
/rulesbefore doing anything risky.
Where to go next
- New to the server? Start with Factions Gameplay and Zones.
- Trying to make money? Read Currency and Factories.
- Looking for a fight? Gun Mechanics, Armour and Raiding have you covered.
Key server changes
Minecraft Breakdown makes several significant changes to both vanilla Minecraft and standard Flan's Mod behaviour. The most important ones to be aware of are:
- No potions, ender pearls or enchantments. Combat is entirely gun-based. There are no vanilla combat mechanics to fall back on.
- Custom world generation. Vanilla structures such as dungeons and strongholds do not exist. The world is populated entirely by custom-built roads, cities, gas stations and NPC outposts.
- Modified mob spawning. Many vanilla mobs have been disabled or rebalanced to fit the server's theme.
- Crafting produces currency. Most items crafted through a crafting table yield in-game money rather than the item itself — see Currency for details.
- Recoil and weapon handling. Weapons behave differently from standard Flan's Mod — see Gun Mechanics for details.
