Vanilla Changes
Minecraft Breakdown makes a lot of changes to the vanilla survival experience, from fall damage and mob spawning to enchantments and world generation. Knowing what's different can save you a lot of wasted effort.
Enchantments
There are currently no enchantments available for any type of item. Neither vanilla nor modded items can be enchanted by any means, so don't bother saving up levels for an enchantment table.
Mob spawning
Hostile mobs do not naturally spawn in the Overworld at all. This is a deliberate design choice to keep the server feeling semi-realistic. The only naturally-spawning mobs you'll find are sheep, chickens, cows, horses and squid. If you want combat, you have to seek out NPCs, other players or the PvP arena.
Structures
Vanilla structures, such as villages, desert temples, dungeons and strongholds, do not generate. Instead, the world has its own set of structures: cities, gas stations, airfields, military outposts and roads. These are covered in detail on the World Generation page.
Unobtainable items
The following items cannot be obtained through any legitimate means:
- Ender Pearls and Eyes of Ender
- Potions of any kind
- Dragon Eggs
- Blaze Rods and Blaze Powder
- Any other item that normally comes from other dimensions
Unobtainable blocks
Sponge blocks cannot be obtained. It is also impossible to mine Obsidian with any pickaxe, though it remains unclear whether it can be created using water and lava.
World generation
Diamonds do not spawn naturally anywhere in the world. The only way to acquire diamonds is through NPC drops, loot chests, player trading or the npc shop.
