Farming NPCs
Wild NPCs on Minecraft Breakdown carry serious military equipment and are notably accurate. As a minimum, you'll want French GIGN armour (from the Armour NPC at spawn, second page, level 6) and an AK47 (from the Modern Weapon NPC, level 6) before heading out.
Recommended approach
- Engage from long range where possible. A sniper or DMR, such as the Winchester Model 70 (level 6) or M40A3 (from a starter task, or level 28 in shops), lets you kill before they can return fire.
- NPCs spot you at distance and will aggro the moment one of them takes a hit. Once aggroed, they'll shoot through penetrable cover.
- Aggressive NPCs push toward your last seen position, so reposition the second you're spotted.
- The further you get from the safe zone, the tougher NPCs become, with more damage and faster reflexes. Deep Outback farming is high reward but unforgiving.
- The further out you are, the more aggressively you should discard low-value drops to keep inventory space free for the good stuff.
Practical tips
- Using an AK47 yourself means most NPC drops include the ammo you actually want, saving a fortune on resupply.
- NPCs also drop AK Alfas and MK 47 Mutants, which both use AK47 ammunition but deal more damage.
- NPC fire chews through armour durability. Bring backup pieces or get used to visiting the armour repair sign at spawn ($50 per portion of durability restored).
- NPC rocket launchers won't fire until provoked; they only shoot back once damaged. The exception is when you're in a vehicle, in which case they'll open up immediately.
- NPCs occasionally throw grenades, and very rarely use a medkit on themselves.
NPC weapons
Standard loadouts include the Makarov, Colt M1911 (.45), SIG P232, SIG P226, MP5, Skorpion, Bizon, AK-47, AK-74, RPK, RPD, Dragunov, Winchester Model 70, Mosin–Nagant, RPG-7, FIM-92 Stinger, M72 LAW, and Panzerfaust 3. Rare loadouts may also include the M4 Carbine, Remington 700 (R700), VSS Vintorez, Flamethrower, Mk47 Mutant, and AK Alfa. All NPCs, except those in the Advanced PvP Arena, wear survivor armour.
Drops
Wild NPCs commonly drop diamonds, Medkits, Red Med Bags, deployable ammo bags, ammo for the gun they were using, wood, food and iron tools. Combined with the Scrap Dealer, that adds up quickly.
